This project explores the traditional crafts that have shaped the peninsula’s identity, such as wooden boatbuilding, net making, and fishing, and tells the stories of the people who have practised them for generations. Their voices and experiences form the backbone of the work, capturing a way of life that is slowly disappearing.
Through a contemporary design approach, I aim to translate these traditions, reimagining them in new forms that carry both the craft and the human stories forward.
“Baltic Memories” is both a celebration and an act of storytelling, honouring the peninsula’s enduring spirit and its profound, intimate connection to the Baltic Sea, ensuring it remains alive for future generations.
